What I’ve been doing is hanging on to the wheel while tightening the wheel nut but that just doesn’t feel right … and … I believe the wheel is shifting after some use because after a short while of light grinding the wheel moves distinctly off center.
It’s a left-hand thread which is supposed to self-tighten. I’ve read the Harig manual on this grinder and all it says is to “tighten” the wheel down with the “wheel nut” using the spanner wrench. My question relates to tightening down the grinding wheel on the 1 1/4' spindle adaptor. I’m not much of a surface grinder expert but I did acquire a used Harig 618 that runs nicely.
